Abstract: The precipitation data has been collected at seven meteorological stations in selected study area of Thanjavur and Nagapattinam Districts, Tamil Nadu, India for the years 1999 to 2017. The annual and monthly rainfall patterns and their variability for these locations were assessed, followed by the trend analysis using Mann-Kendall Test. Besides, Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) Method was employed for spatial differentiation of rainfall patterns, using ArcGIS spatial analysis tools, viz. Hydrology tools Arc-Map, Arc-Catalog, and Arc Hydro extension tools.
