Abstract: Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology provides new opportunities to automatically fabricate parts with complicated shapes that could not be produced by conventional manufacturing processes, thus enabling unprecedented design flexibilities and application opportunities. The design and analysis of lattice structures manufactured using additive manufacturing technique is a new approach to create lightweight high-strength components. Infill percentage and lattice pattern influence print weight, material usage, strength, print time and sometimes decorative properties. With many types of lattice structure patterns available, This Paper focuses on design of rectangular lattice structure according to required infill percentage. Rectangular beam is considered for application of design methodology and the rectangular lattice structure is generated with infill percentage as an input parameter. The manual process of lattice structure design is tedious and time consuming and requires many iterations to achieve final design. Therefore, the focus of this paper is to develop methodology for automatic lattice structure generation using CAD Application Programming Interface(API). The design process is automated using integration of CAD software packages Creo© parametric 4.0 and Mathcad 4.0.
