Abstract: The concepts of blow moulding are a process used to produce hollow objects from thermoplastic. The basic blow moulding process has two fundamental phases. The first phase is heating the preform and the second phase is blowing the preform to the required shape by using compressed air. In our project, we made a simple blow moulding machine. Normally a blow moulding machine costs around 4 to 6 lakhs. So, we reduced the total machine cost by making the setup in a simple way. The raw material pet preform is made up of polyethene. These pets perform are readily available in the market. For heating process, we used infrared heating bulb as a heating element which produces the heat up to 1500° Celsius, which can make the pet preform to attain its glass transition temperature. To distribute the temperature evenly the preform is rotated under the constant speed. We made a mould box by using white cement in the shape of bottle as a cavity. By inserting the heated pet preforms into the mould box, we have to blow the compressed air into the preform at high pressure to get the shape of polyethene bottles.
