Abstract: In this paper we have designed a rectangular microstrip antenna in ‘S’ band transmission line model. The S band frequency ranges from 2 GHz to 4GHz for wireless application. The desired frequency is chosen to be 2.4 GHz at which the patch antenna is designed to improve the bandwidth. After calculating the various parameters such as width, effective dielectric constant, effective length and actual length. The antenna impedance is matched to 50 ohm using inset feed. The results are obtained (Input Impedance, reflection coefficient, SWR and bandwidth) by using MATLAB software.
