Abstract: This paper presents a parametric study on the different characteristics like V-I and P-V characteristics of a PV (Photovoltaic) module. These output characteristics are of variable nature depending upon some variable input like solar irradiation, solar cell working temperature, various environment condition, number of series and shunt cells of PV module, series and shunt resistance, ideal factor of PV module etc. In this paper, the parameters that affect the efficiency of a PV module are identified and these are solar irradiation, cell working temperature. These parameters are analysed under different working conditions. It is also observed that for improving the efficiency of the PV module, these parameters in a solar cell should be adjusted properly.
