Abstract: Takrarishta is a well-practiced Sandhana preparation (fermented preparation) of Ayurveda. It has wide therapeutic indications like Dyspepsia, Abdominal lump, Piles, etc. But yet its quality assessment has not been standardised. In present study its preliminary phyto-chemical screening along with physico-chemical evaluations has been performed. As there is no evidence of TLC fingerprinting has been found reported, an attempt was made to design proper TLC fingerprinting of Takrarishta. Also the separation was compared with standard Gallic acid in order to confirm its presence. The present work will contribute to assess the Quality control and standardization of Takrarishta.
