Abstract: Friction stir welding (FSW) is a rapidly developing solid state joining process; mainly used for automotive, aerospace, marine and other structural applications. The present work is to examine the effect of different process parameter (tool rotational speed, traverse speed and the force act along the axis) on tensile strength, hardness of an Al6061 aluminum alloy. During the welding process induced heat plays a major in the mechanical properties and appearance on the weld joints, which is associated to welding parameters.
