Advancement of Solar Air Conditioning System Through Pcm Torage

Abstract: In recent years, energy demand has increased due to the high-energy consumption in different fields.The most popular power source has caused huge damages to the environment by paying more cost leads the researchers to work on renewable energy. The solar energy as an alternative source can be utilized to the maximum extent in the Vapor Absorption Machine (VAM) instead of popular power source. PCM based energy storage is adopted in the solar driven VAM. The storage tank is provided with multiple inlet of heat transfer fluid for charging and discharging mode of operation. The storage tank is loaded with copper balls containing Erythritol as PCM and water is used as the heat transfer fluid. The storage tank is designed for a storage capacity of 95.86 kW considering the latent heat and sensible heat of the Heat transfer fluid. The Total Heat outputs, Temperature distribution, Pressure distribution,is charging time are analyzed by CFD. As a result of the current study, that the application of a solar storage tank integrated with the system is found to be the best choice of utilizing the renewable energy.
