Abstract: Digital Preservation gives libraries an excellent opportunity to improve there services. It also provides new ways of preservation dissemination of library collections. But the difference stages of digitizations of the materials in a library involve many copyright issues. There are legal problems and purely practical ones such as locating the owner of copyright. Copyright has always been an issue in the development of digital libraries; copyright legislation in many countries was not designed with the digital environment in mind. Acquiring, managing and providing access to digital information in libraries involves making copies, which is rarely the case with more traditional library material.
