Chinanews, Beijing, Apr. 18 – Zhang Guobao, vice director of State Development and Reform Commission, said on Monday that the development of China’s automobile industry had developed well in the past five years In 2001 China produced 2 million automobiles, and in 2006 the number reached 7.2 million.
Zhang revealed that both the production and sale have accelerated since 2001, and the auto industry will continuously develop in the Eleventh Five-Year Plan Period (2006-2010), and more car buyers will appear.
According to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the total production of automobiles will reach 8.5 million in 2007, an increase of 15% compared with 2006. It is estimated that it will reach 10.2 million in 2008.
